Awakening Bangkok is the Thai capital’s signature festival for light art and digital installations. This year, Awakening Bangkok 2025 invites everyone to tour the historic streets, markets, and heritage buildings of Phra Nakhon as they glow with artwork, turning Bangkok’s old quarter into an open-air gallery.
“LOVEVERCITY” : A city filled with love
This year’s theme, “LOVEVERCITY | เมือง•รัก•เอย,” explores love in all its forms: love for people, communities, and the city itself. Each installation represents a message of affection, using light as a universal language to express how love shapes Bangkok and those who live, visit, and dream within it.
Whether festival-goers choose to come with friends, family, significant others, or even solo, “love in the city” can be felt through Awakening Bangkok’s interactive light sculptures, digital art environments, and immersive story-led spaces.
This year’s edition also deepens the relationship between art and urban heritage. Artworks are installed in and around historic buildings, bridges, markets, and cultural landmarks, encouraging festival-goers to rediscover Bangkok’s past through a contemporary creative lens.
Highlights of Awakening Bangkok 2025
Awakening Bangkok 2025 spans beloved areas of Phra Nakhon as well as two new locations. Installations will be showcased across:
- Pak Khlong Talat & Yodpiman River Walk – A riverside promenade, flower market charm, and illuminated walkways.
- Sam Yot & Rommaninat Park – A popular festival hub, now featuring expanded digital-light experiences.
- Phra Phuttha Yodfa Bridge (Memorial Bridge) – A new riverside route near the historic Postal Building.
- Wang Burapha District – New displays in The Old Siam Plaza, Saphan Han, and along Khlong Ong Ang.
Every evening from 18:00–23:00, the Old Town transforms into a glowing labyrinth perfect for leisurely exploration during the cool December weather. Visitors can expect large-scale light structures, projection art on heritage facades, and interactive installations triggered by movement, sound, or touch—each interpreting expressions of love within the urban landscape.
Awakening Bangkok will pause its live concert features this year to refocus on art, installations, and nighttime discovery, creating a more contemplative, immersive experience.

Organizers of Awakening Festivals
Awakening Bangkok continues to champion accessible public art, cultural storytelling, and the rediscovery of Bangkok’s historic districts. Awakening Bangkok is organized by Friday, a Bangkok-based creative agency known for reimagining urban spaces through art, culture, and experiential design. Since its launch, the festival has grown into one of the city’s most anticipated year-end events, spotlighting local and regional artists while revitalizing Bangkok’s old town through contemporary creativity.
The 2025 edition is organized in collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric, SangSom, Homprung by Baihor, and in collaboration with TCEB (Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau), Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), The Old Siam Plaza, Yodpiman River Walk, Yodpiman Market, and AMA Hostel.
