As part of Bangkok Design Week 2021, the ILLUMINATION OF DESIGN by DEmark 2020 exhibition is showcasing the winners of last year’s prestigious Design Excellence Awards—the DEmark. Find the best in creative and sustainable product design that Thailand has to offer.

The Thailand Institute of Design and Promotion and DOTS Design Studio have joined hands to organize the exhibition as “storytelling through light,” featuring last year’s winners of the 2020 DEmark Awards. Award categories include furniture, lifestyle, industrial, packaging, interior design, graphic design / digital media, and creative & innovative fashion.

The winning designs have been curated into five collections: Thai Spirit, DNA Conomy, Design Well Being, Life is Beautiful, and The Future is Circular.

Experience ILLUMINATION OF DESIGN by DEmark 2020 at the O.P. Place Shopping Complex from June 12th – 20th, 2021 during the hours of 11:00am – 7:00pm or find the virtual exhibition here.

Recognizing Thai Design Excellence

The Design Excellence Award (DEmark) was established in 2008 in order to give recognition to outstanding product design, presented annually by the Prime Minister under the auspices of Thailand Institute of Design and Promotion under the Department of International Trade Promotion. The winning product receives the DEmark logo for outstanding design, promoting designed-in-Thailand products to the international market.

To foster widespread acclaim and recognition, judges for the DEmark awards are drawn from experts in the DITP, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), and the Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP). Learn more about award registration here.

Bangkok Design Week

Bangkok Design Week (BKKDW) is the highlight of any events calendar in Bangkok, drawing an estimated number of 400,000 visitors at home and abroad each year. The annual event is organized by the Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization) or CEA, in partnership with over 60 state agencies, public organizations, academia and international institutions, as well as 2,000 designers and creative businesses.

In many ways, BKKDW is a growth engine for Thailand’s creative industries, showcasing creative business and designs, stimulating competitiveness, providing a local and foreign business networking opportunity, and generating an economic momentum to downstream businesses.
