It might sound spooky, but Thailand’s Night at the Museum Festival is actually one of the country’s most enchanting events, bringing after-dark experiences for local communities to experience art and science. This year, the Night at the Museum Festival is taking place from December 4th to 28th, 2025.

This year’s theme, “Bloom into the Night: Night at the Museum, Where Culture Comes Alive,” invites visitors to rediscover Thai heritage in vivid new ways — from illuminated museum courtyards to projection mapping shows and stargazing sessions that bring the night sky into the cultural spotlight.

The festival is designed not only to showcase Thailand’s cultural treasures but also to strengthen local tourism, creative learning, and community economies. This aligns with wider efforts to enhance Thailand’s “cultural capital” and make museums more accessible to the public.

Highlights of Night at the Museum Festival

This year, more than 50 museums and cultural centers have signed up for the event. These cultural centers are spread out across Bangkok and the rest of the country, each offering special nighttime programs:

  • Lighting Installations & Architectural Illuminations: Participating museums will be draped in atmospheric lights, highlighting facades, gardens, and historical structures.
  • Projection Mapping Shows: Creative storytelling through light projections on building exteriors and in exhibition halls.
  • Night Markets & Local Crafts: Visitors can browse handmade products, enjoy Thai street food, and experience community markets within museum grounds.
  • Astronomy & Stargazing Activities: Selected science museums and observatories will host nighttime sky-watching sessions and interactive educational programs.
  • Performances, Tours & Hands-On Workshops: Expect everything from live music to curated tours and cultural demonstrations unique to each institution.

Here are just a few participating museums and cultural centers worth checking out:

  • The Wireless House One Bangkok — Special guided tours through the historic radio-telegraph building (18:00, 19:00, 20:00, 21:00).
  • Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) — After-hours creative programs.
  • EGAT Learning Centre, Nonthaburi — Electricity and energy exhibition after dark.
  • Thai Film Museum, Nakhon Pathom — Night film screenings, food vendors, and craft stalls.
  • National Memorial, Pathum Thani — New interactive exhibition with VR games.
  • King Rama II Memorial Park, Samut Songkhram – Puppet collection shown at night
  • Princess Sirindhorn Observatory, Chachoengsao – Astronomy exhibitions and guided stargazing sessions.
  • Museum Sing Buri – Lighting installations illuminating cultural exhibits.
