Feeling a little culture shock? The Thailand Foundation is organizing the Fourth Expatriate Orientation Program (EOP4), a program that serves as a quick manual for foreign diplomats, expatriates, businesspersons, consultants, scholars, as well as their families for a deeper understanding of Thailand, Thai people, and essential characteristics of “Thainess.” 

Registration is available until March 15th, 2024, and EOP4 will be held on April 3rd to 4th, 2024 at the Vithes Samosorn Hall, Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok, Thailand.

The two-day comprehensive learning experience will be conducted in English by prominent speakers who are experts in the selected fields. The topics include:

  • Prism of Thainess: Approaching Thai Society from the Perspective of Thai Values

Our values shape how we perceive and respond to the world around us. This session will take a look at Thai social frameworks through the lens of “Prism of Thainess,” by diving into the core values that underline various aspects of Thai culture. With practical insights, attendees will get to enrich their experiences in work, leisure, and social interactions in Thailand.

  • Thailand in a Historical Perspective

The dynamics and principles of the modern Thai state draw heavily from its historical evolution. Its rich history reveals how the monarchy, religion, trade, and diplomacy have consistently influenced the nation’s well-being.

  • Bangkok That You Might Not Know

Bangkok is one of the most vibrant and cultural cities in the world, from its bustling streets and local neighborhoods to its green spaces. This session will explore the lesser-known corners of the city and its diverse inhabitants and uncover unique experiences.

  • Appreciating Arts Around You in Thailand

When travelling through Thailand, there will be countless exquisite artistic expressions, ranging from architecture to fine arts. These creations are more than “aesthetic” and serve as a testament to the remarkable skills of Thai artists and the rich tapestry of Thai history. This session will guide attendees through the story of Thai arts, exploring its origins and insightful qualities that reflect the values of Thailand and its people.

  • Thai Economy: Thriving in Global Uncertainties

Amidst the rapidly changing global economic conditions, supply chain realignment due to geographic tensions, technological disruptions, and aging societies, this session will serve as a compass, guiding attendees through Thailand’s economic adaptations.

  • Thai Economy: What’s in It for You

Thailand’s evolving economy presents not only fresh perspectives on challenges but also the collaborative opportunities for domestic and international business sectors. Former Ambassador Pisan Manawapat will share his insights on the country’s new economic advancements in this session.

  • Discover the Four Regions of Thailand by Rails
