The Thai Ridgeback is a striking, muscular breed with roots in the eastern provinces of Chanthaburi and Trat. Belonging to the hunting group, this native Thai breed stands tall and proud, weighing between 20 to 24 kilograms and reaching up to 62 centimeters in height. 

Its most distinctive feature is the ridge of hair running against the grain along its back — a natural mohawk that gives the breed its name. With a sleek coat available in colors like red, black, blue, and brindle, the Thai Ridgeback also boasts a wrinkled forehead, sharp triangular ears, and a whip-like tail. Thai Bangkaew: Devoted, watchful, intelligent

Hailing from a monastery in Bangkaew village, Phitsanulok Province, this medium-sized breed has long been cherished as a loyal companion. Compact yet sturdy, with a signature ruff of fur around its neck and a plush, pluming tail, the Bangkaew is not only handsome but also highly trainable. 

Friendly and devoted, it scores high in both socialization and obedience, making it a great choice for families who value both affection and alertness in a pet. Though smaller than the Ridgeback — topping out around 16 kilograms — this breed is no less vigilant, often described as a watchful protector of the home. With its fluffy coat marked by clearly defined patches of black, gray, tan, or red against a white base, the Thai Bangkaew is as much a symbol of northern Thai heritage as it is a loving household companion.
